Program Description
The Communication Studies minor equips students with the knowledge and skills to understand, analyze, and engage in human communication across a variety of contexts. Students explore communication theory and practice as it applies to interpersonal, organizational, small groups, and conflict resolution, developing critical thinking, ethical awareness, and message design skills essential for professional and personal success.
Through courses emphasizing oral, written, and mediated communication, students learn to navigate complex social dynamics, foster collaboration, and become more effective communicators in diverse environments. The minor complements any major by strengthening leadership, teamwork, and relational skills that are highly valued in today’s global marketplace.
